Comments              and             Progeny

Breeder/Owner conditioned, Babe finished her championship in ten shows, doing it the hard way by winning several Bests of Breed to earn her majors and most of her points. In addition, she earned the rank of #8 Airedale bitch, Knight System, for 1985.

A wonderful, showy presence in the ring was replaced by a gentle, mothering instinct in the whelping box.  Babe had even tried to share the duties of her dam's second litter while she herself was only 1 year old!

The birth of my third child triggered the maternal instinct in Glory, Babe and Esprit.  I think they thought him to be a funny-looking puppy that needed their protection.  Although sometimes I wondered if they simply thought his toys were better than theirs.  I do know they followed him around to steal his cookies whenever they had the chance!  And one of his favorite things to do was to share his teething biscuits with the dogs.

Babe's first breeding was to CH Turith Country Cousin and she produced CH Serendipity Country Classic, who distinguished herself by winning Best in Sweepstakes at the Airedale Terrier Club of Metro Washington, DC in 1989, finishing her championship with multiple BOB's and a Group 2.  Priss was rated #9 Bitch, Knight System 1990, handled to BOB by her new owner Sarah Boyd.

We chose CH Waggin-aire's Jonah to be the sire of Babe's second litter, and that mating produced three champions - CH Serendipity's Tally Ho, owned and shown by Sheri Smith, CH Serendipity's Hallelujah and CH Serendipity's Hosanna , (#9 bitch 1991).  Hannah was to become the dam of five champions, including Peter, CH Serendipity's Eagle's Wings the top-winning Best in Show Airedale in the history of the breed.

Babe's last litter, sired by CH Safari's Gunnar of Highpoint, produced another outstanding BOB winner, CH Serendipity's Nut Meg Spice.  Nutmeg belongs to the owners of Care-a-Lot Pet Supply Warehouse,  a Discount Pet Catalog Company, specializing in Show Supplies and items for dogs and cats.
